37 weeks.
2003-01-07 | 1:08 p.m.

wow. hadn't realized it's been 23 days since my last update. a lot has been happening. of course. christmas was great. i got a lot of stuff that i didn't need. it was nice to really have josh there. we had fun with it. so was new years, though it wasn't as great as christmas. we just sat around at his house all night mostly. but eh.

josh and i went joint on a changing table, so we have a changing table now. and my mom bought us a crib and a mattress, so we have one of those too. we just need mike, nickie, and kaleigh to move out so we can put the crib up. the changing table is up in my room because i was all excited about it. we're just finishing up getting ready for the baby, though i don't think 'finishing up' will ever end. because there's so much to do at any given moment.

josh is no longer working at media play. but he got hired as a cook at a restaurant near my house. he is also getting paid more. he has to work more hours because it's a restaurant, but eh. and he starts college up again next tuesday.

i'm 37 weeks pregnant now, which means wekly visits. yesterday i had my 37 week check up, and she checked my cervix, and guess what? i'm dialated (if that is how you spell it) 1 centimeter. which is scary. because it finally hit me that yes, i am pregnant, and yes it's going to be over soon. i've been having pains in my lower uterus, and i asked the doctor about it and she said they were contractions and the baby settling in. she said if they are 5 minutes apart for an hour, that's when i should go to the hospital. regardless, these pains hurt. a lot. yesterday they were 5 minutes apart for about 25 to 30 minutes, and i was like 'oh no.' but then they suddenly stopped. so, this whole going into labor thing may be harder to tell than i thought. all i know is i'm not looking forward to it. if these pains are even half of what real contractions feel like, then i'm screwed. because let's just say, they hurt. the other night they kept me up til 7:30 and caused me to throw up. they hurt so so so bad. the thing is, they are normally constant, they don't go away, they just stay there. while contractions come, peak, and then go, only to return. these just keep going, most of the time at least. they stop when they feel it's necessary to let me go back to being somewhat pain free. as pain free as someone 9 months pregnant can be, right?

my hope is that the baby won't be born until february third, but everyone knows the baby doesn't ask you what you want. but, then again, if i keep having these pains like this until then, maybe i don't want to wait that long.

all i know is it's coming quickly to an end. and that scares the living crap out of me.

alright. the pain is here. i have school in about an hour. i have to get ready for that. so i will write later.
