lil late for 3 months!
2003-05-31 | 12:12 a.m.

well. i'm just a LITTLE late for a 3 month update. just a little. oh. about.. 18 days. but things have been crazy. as is expected with a baby, though, huh?

but things have been good. i've been sick this last week, though. not feeling like myself.

anyway. josh and i, officially, have a great baby. she really is great. she's so happy, smart, strong, beautiful. she amazes me (and josh) every day. i really am beginning to believe i can't imagine life without her. though it may be hard, she makes me smile.

we have started putting her to bed earlier. so, i've been having a little more time to myself at night - and with josh. which, i forgot how nice it is to be with josh without baby. it really is nice. we're having a somewhat rocky period, but that's because we're both stressed. and it's not all that bad. things have been good. even with the rockiness. i can't imagine life without him either.

so. onto new baby things. she can hold a toy now, depending on the toy. and on her tummy, she rocks at holding her head up. she pulls her knees up to her chest, or at least tries. she's not a big tummy time fan. but i think once she realizes she can be mobile on her tummy, she'll want tons of it. she's still trying to figure out the whole rolling thing. though, on her changing table, she'll kick off the wall. she is reaching for things like a pro. and she finally got her thumb in her mouth! she either sucks on her thumb, or two fingers. she's adorable. but i already said that, huh?

she's following the sound of josh's and my voices. she wants someone to prop her up all the time so she can see. she's nosey. and she's started the baby 'if i see it, and i can reach it, it goes in my mouth.' she's great.

so, we took her to the dermatologist forever ago. and she looked at sarah's ear and said it's a birth mark, but it will most likely go away. just keep an eye on it incase it gets sores or anything like that. because then they might have to use a laser on it or something. and we talked to her about the whole soap ordeal, and she said to use this over-the-counter soap named cetaphil. it's working great. no rashes, no flakey scalp. i use the liquid stuff on her scalp. she even said i should use dye-free tylenol since her skin is so sensitive. we odered some. josh and i are of the mindset that it doesn't matter the cost or whatever, if we know something works for her, why jinx it? so, that's sorted out. i'm still trying to figure out which diapers won't make poop fly in all directions at night. i think i find a good brand, but then they go and turn on me.

what else? she's just amazing. she still won't take naps by herself, but at night time, she'll sleep by herself for awhile. she still wakes up a few times during the night, but they say that's normal until 5 or 6 months, then it's not hunger waking her up, it's habit.

i've been getting somewhat more stable. it's really hard to adjust to being a mom. especially under the circumstances. i still get depressed and whatnot, but i'm getting better.

josh graduates from high school next saturday (june 7th). i'm excited. but it's also kind of sad for me. because i should also be graduating. but, the pregnancy and the little munchkin kind of made that harder. but i'm going to graduate. even if it takes me an eternity. (though it won't.)

what else? hm. oh, i have tons and tons of pictures now. josh's dad let us use his digital camera. so, i sized a few to show all of you. i hope you still find her adorable.

here's one displaying how good she is at holding her head up. it's a little dark. but i'm not great at photo editing.

here's one of her getting hold of the mobile we keep above the changing table. it's one of her favorites.

here's one of her getting great at the computer already. she types so well! she loves the spacebar.

here's her displaying her skills with the mouse.

she's a ham for the camera! if she seems a camera, she talks to it, tries to grab it, won't take her eyes off of it. if you want her attention, you have to take the camera away!

i love her in this one. it brings out the blue in her eyes.

sorry. went a little picture nuts. i guess it's just nice having pictures of her to post, FINALLY that are nice.

anyway. soon, she'll be 4 months old (june 13).

oh! she's 25 inches long now, and 14 pounds 13 ounces with her clothes and diaper on (she had a sick visit. she had a cold that caused her left eye to swell almost shut because of the blocked tear duct). the length of her was done at home.

so. here we go 4 months!
